Toronto, April 29 – In a significant show of representation, 22 individuals of Punjabi origin have been elected to the Canadian Parliament following the 2025 federal elections. Reflecting the growing political engagement of the South Asian diaspora, the list features both seasoned politicians and promising new entrants, spread across key constituencies in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta.

Among the prominent winners is Anita Anand from Oakville, who is continuing her high-profile presence in Canadian politics. Bardish Chagger retained her seat in Waterloo, further solidifying her influence within the Liberal ranks. Ruby Sahota (Brampton North), Maninder Sidhu (Brampton East), and Amandeep Sohi (Brampton Centre) are part of a strong Punjabi contingent in the Brampton region, once again affirming its status as a Punjabi political stronghold.

In British Columbia, Sukh Dhaliwal secured Surrey Newton, while Randeep Sarai returns from Surrey Centre. New names like Gurbax Saini from Fleetwood and Param Bains from Richmond East made their mark this election, reflecting a generational shift in leadership.
